After a wonderful season of running RDA Sessions for our participants, we will be leaving our home at Reelig Riding Centre on 9th September 2026.
Our new trustees restarted sessions in the Spring to see our vital service at work and have taken this time to make careful decisions about our future. With rising costs of horse care, feed, vets bills plus arena hire costs to name a few, sadly the current model is not sustainable without funding and support which at the moment, is incredibly hard to find as the country as a whole is struggling financially.
Our wonderful horses Connolly, Harley, Breagha and Puzzle who have worked so hard for our cause and made such a difference to so many lives, have been found new homes to relax and enjoy their well deserved retirement, and the ‘minis’ who have also given so much enjoyment to everyone will be staying with Bridget.
We just want to reassure you though, that this isn’t goodbye! We are currently working on a new model to hopefully restart a service that has been so vital to our community in the New Year. Please watch this space for updates and if you are able to help us in any way we would love to hear from you.
We are a devoted group with a strong purpose and we couldn’t do this without our amazing volunteers who have helped to make so many participants lives that little bit better. The relationship between horses and humans is incredibly special and we will do our very best to continue to make this happen for you.
Finally, we want to say a huge thank you to our coach Bridget, who has given up so much of her life to this cause. Her drive and enthusiasm to enrich the lives of both horses and humans has given us all the motivation to continue, Bridget is truly a very special lady and has done so much for Highland RDA.
It is time to look forward and move on to new pastures and we will be back very soon with our amazing team, coach and vision to help as many people as we can to help make their lives that little bit better.
